Alphington Village Hall and Theatre can be found at Ide lane, Exeter, EX2 8UP. The Community Centre and Art Block are on Church Road, Alphington, Exeter, EX2 8AT.
Our facilities are suitable for most purposes, from meetings to parties and dance classes, with very competitive prices – including cheaper rates for charities and not for profits.
We have an art block with a double art studio, a pottery studio with 6 wheels and a kiln.
The Village Hall, originally an 1830s building, is in the centre of the village, and was fully refurbished in 2017. The Hall has been decorated to a high specification and has superb new toilets and kitchen, with a seating capacity for 100 people. The Hall can be extending into the large foyer area. It is accessible for all; a bus-stop for “A” bus is just outside the entrance and our parking facility (more availability in the evening and weekends) is shared with the local Surgery.
The Theatre was added to the Village Hall complex in 2021 and has skylights with blackout blinds, making it ideal for discos/neon parties etc. It also as underfloor heating and flexible lighting, making it a favourite venue for our Yoga and Pilates classes.
The Community Centre and Art Block were originally built in 1876 as the original Alphington School until the school moved to its current site in 1987. It has a large playground and access to Grimes Field behind it.

Apart from the convenience of free Wi-fi, we have a projector and screen available for use at all our venues.
Many activities have regular bookings in this space but it is available for parties and occasional bookings particularly at the weekends.
Hall availability is always open to negotiation. Please do not assume this hall cannot be used on days where activities are indicated here.
